Was a beloved Granddaughter, Daughter, Sister, Niece, Cousin, Aunt and Friend.
Taya was born to Natasha Brien and Spencer Reed on the cold winter day of January 08, 1999 in Racine, Wisconsin. She had a heart full of adventure. She loved roadtrips, shopping, all things fashion & beauty, church, swimming in a pool, ocean, river, lake or stream, cooking (she made the best soul food and caramel cake), family gatherings and going places, seeing things. She never said no to something fun.
She attended Jerstad Agerholm Elementary School, Jerstad Agerholm Middle School, Washington Park High School and Del Norte High School where she graduated in 2018.
Taya’s father was a DJ and she grew up on beats and mixed CDs. She was very musically talented and loved to sing and dance with a passion. She was in both the school and church choir and would often find herself at Karaoke nights at a local pub, singing her heart out fearlessly.. When she walked in a room, it lit up. Everyone would run to her with smiles on their faces. Everyone loved to be around her and couldn’t wait to talk to her. Taya was a friend to everyone and could make anyone laugh. Her favorite color was sky blue and her spirit animals were turtles. She would often beam when she talked about one day going to see the turtles hatch at the beach.
She moved to Crescent City, CA in 2016 with her mother, Natasha to be closer to her grandmother, Pamela Meirndorf. They quickly made it home. Taya wasted no time inviting her best friend David Anderson to come live with her. It wasn't long until her cousin Nikole Trinidad followed her to live out here too.
She worked as a caregiver with New Dawn Support Services for several years and loved her job and the people she worked with. She was always happy to bring clients around and make their days easier even if only a little. She would frequently bring clients food even on her days off.
She loved shoes and was very creative. Even took a venture to make custom sneakers and sell them at a local shop. Taya was also talented at braiding hair and would often offer a variety of hairstyles to her friends and family.
She loved her family and would do anything for them. She is survived by many people who truly loved and cherished her. Over the 10 years that Taya lived in Crescent City, she connected with so many people who proved to be lifelong friends that turned into family. We are very grateful for these people.

Taya unexpectedly passed away on August 03, 2025 at the age of 26 at her apartment in Crescent City, CA.
We will forever be void of her vibrant energy, for the world seems a little more dull now without her. Although knowing this fact, we still are able to connect with her in many ways in the natural world. We see her kindness in the gentle ocean breeze and her heart painted in the sky with different hues of pink and purple. We are reminded everyday that she was an amazing person that we were lucky enough to have had a chance to love you. Taya Reed you will be forever missed.
